Catapult into Reading

As we celebrated March is Reading Month, we wanted our students to understand that books have the power to launch readers into new worlds. In honor of this theme, our March S.T.E.M. challenge was to build a catapult.  Students and their families had to build a catapult using any materials they wanted, preferably with some recycled materials, and test their catapult with a large marshmallow.  Students loved the launching contest, and our winner was a kindergartner who design a catapult that launched a marshmallow 331 inches.
