21st Century Community Learning Center News

Cooke S.T.E.M. Academy is proud to be a newly selected 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) for DPSCD.  The 21st CCLC program is an application based after-school academic and enrichment program for 5th – 8th-grade students.  During the school year, students receive homework assistance, academic instruction and participate in STEM courses and enrichment programs. They will also participate in the NBA Math Hoops board game which could result in students competing on a national level.  The program promotes leadership by sponsoring a Youth Advisory Council (YAC) where students campaign to be representatives for their peers and ensure their voices are heard.  Students will also sponsor school-wide community service projects and may attend educational field trips.  If you are interested in learning more about the program contact the school at (313) 866-9751.
